A Quote by Diana Vreeland

If you think all the time every day of your life, you might as well kill yourself today and be happier tomorrow. — © Diana Vreeland
If you think all the time every day of your life, you might as well kill yourself today and be happier tomorrow.
You realize that we over-exaggerate yesterday, we over-estimate tomorrow and we underestimate today. We think, "Well, I'm going to kill time," "I'll get back to this tomorrow."
The more you discipline yourself to use your time well, the happier you will feel and the better will be the quality of your life in every area.
Men always want to die for something. For someone. I can see the appeal. You do it once and it’s done. No more worrying, not knowing, about tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow. I know you all think it sounds brave, but I’ll tell you something even braver. To struggle and fight for the ones you love today. And then do it all over again the next day. Every day. For your whole life. It’s not as romantic, I admit. But it takes a lot of courage to live for someone, too.
With every rising of the sun Think of your life as just begun. The past has shrived and buried deep All yesterdays— there let them sleep, Nor seek to summon back one ghost Of that innumerable host. Concern yourself with but today; Woo it and teach it to obey Your wish and will. Since time began Today has been the friend of man. But in his blindness and his sorrow He looks to yesterday and tomorrow.
You will be happy. Will it satisfy you if I say again I will keep a promise I made before? Tomorrow you will be happier than today, the day after tomorrow you will be happier than tomorrow. I promise you.
Be careful what you think, because your thoughts run your life. Do you want to be happy tomorrow? Then sow seeds of happiness today -count blessings, memorize Bible verses, pray, sing hymns, spend time with encouraging people. Do you want to guarantee tomorrow's misery? Then wallow in a mental mud pit of self-pity or guilt or anxiety today assume the worst, beat yourself up, rehearse your regrets, complain to complainers.
The one thing we can count on is that time will pass; day will become night, and the sunrise will bring with it a new tomorrow. What you are doing with these precious moments TODAY is creating your tomorrow. How you spend today is the greatest measure of who you are becoming, and the life you will be living. My question to you is: what will YOU do today to become the person you need to be to create the extraordinary life you deserve?
Every day kill just one, rather than today five, tomorrow ten . . . that is enough for you. Then your nerves are calm and you can sleep good, you have your drink in the evening and the next morning you are fit again.
You yourself create all your misery, hour after hour, day after day. You think the goal justifies the means, even the vile means. You are wrong: The goal is in the path on which you arrive at it. Every step of today is your life of tomorrow. No great goal can be reached by vile means. That you have proven in every social revolution. The vileness or inhumanity of the path to the goal makes you vile or inhuman, and the goal unattainable.
If you were offered the opportunity to be TOTALLY happy tomorrow, would you take it? If yes, (and I suspect most of us would say yes) what are you doing TODAY to make tomorrow be a happier day than today?
Just because today is a terrible day doesn't mean tomorrow might not be the best day of your entire life. You just have to wake up and get there
Your entire life begins to change the day that you decide you will no longer accept mediocrity for yourself. When you decide that TODAY is the most important day of your life, and that NOW matters more than any other time, because it is who you're becoming in every moment, based on the choices you're making and the actions you're taking, that is determining who and where you are going to be for the rest of your life.
You can't even kill yourself if it isn't your time to go. People have no control whatsoever over what happens to them, and they are beginning to realize this. The future lies in the time of living. Your doing something will get you into tomorrow, if you want to call it tomorrow. If you want to make those distinctions at all.
The day you spend hoping, the day you spend waiting, the day you spend in despair, is a day in your life as much as the tomorrow you hope for, but which may never come, so betting today on tomorrow is always a bad bet.
The business of Hollywood, if you don't have other things going on, it will eat you up and spit you out... If you take what those people and that social structure think of you - if you let it govern your life - you might as well just kill yourself.
Today's belief is tomorrow's behavior. If you want to be happier person tomorrow, sow seeds of happiness today.
