I've always been very in tune to my voice and to other people's voices and how they express themselves vocally. And I always loved accents and dialects - I collected them like stamps.
I've always been fascinated by dialects and accents. In fact, I've rarely played straight English parts. I play character parts - and always will.
Accents aren't accents, they're language It's almost like a code. Because that's the key to who you are: it's how you express who you are. And how you express who you are is how you speak.

I like people and I like hearing their stories. The way that they deliver them is always very particular and I think that their accents are integral to that.
I'm always thinking about songs and how I can sing a song that would resonate with my voice, my persona. I want it to be a pleasant experience that's not just about hearing my voice. I remember some singers whose voices were so pretty, it didn't matter what they sang - you loved it.
