I'm away from my family so much doing my job. My family is my motivation for everything, so it's only right that's what you get to see on 'Total Divas.'
If you want to see mankind fully, look at a family. Within the family minds become organically one, and for this reason the family is total poetry.
I think because of 'Total Divas,' people have gotten to know who we are and kind of see more of the personality of the divas.
Being a Diva is not easy. We are on the road 300 days a year. We don't get a lot of family or personal time. With 'Total Divas' on top of that, on our days off, we have the cameras following us, and that's not for everyone.
Ever since 'Tough Enough,' and getting put on 'Total Divas' right away, it was kind of like I never stopped. I was like, 'Okay, now I need to get to the Performance Center.' I needed to train and get the wrestling down.
I wonder if what makes a family a family isn't doing everything right all the time but, instead, giving a second chance to the people you love who do things wrong.
I would love to see 'Total Divas' grow more. The show is doing awesome.
I consider being a performer work. I come from a theater family; I've been an actor all my life. I started acting when I was a kid, and I've earned a living as an artist all my life. It's my job in the sense that it's everything I am, the only thing I know how to do. I literally do not have qualifications to do anything else on this planet. Seriously, it's scary. [But] I don't consider it a job [because] it's my religion - it's my faith, it's my family, it's everything to me.
I was brought up to believe that it's family first. Of all the people my parents knew, the family was most important. You always turn to your family, and the family supports you. We do what we can to support our young and go and see the grandchildren if they're doing plays at school and their sports events.
It is important to feel the support of my family. Mentally, I can get away from everything that is football when I come home to be with them. Yes, work is a pleasure, but there will always be family.
That can happen sometimes: We see what's good but need to be given the motivation or strength to do it when we're tired or distracted by something else. That's one of the major things a family is for, and I look forward to that with the family that I start one day.
But with two boys and a new puppy, we don't get out much. We're usually home doing stuff together as a family, like watching 'Modern Family.'
The hardest challenge I'm facing is just balancing my family with the industry. It's kind of like, you gotta stay out there doing your thing, doing whatever and it takes you away from your family. So it's hard to balance it out but once you get it, it's a lifestyle. You got to sacrifice to do what it is you want.
Social class has worked for years. Born into the right family, go to the right schools, even if you're not super bright to start with, you'll turn out bright. You go to the right university, you get the right job, you have the right connections, you'll make it to the top. Job done, very efficient.
I was appalled at how children had become the focus and gravitational center of the nuclear family around which parents orbited instead of the traditional arrangement in which children orbited around their parents. This is a huge change because a critical job in early childhood is to get children weaned away from the total narcissism normal to infancy. With the children as the center of the family's actions and decisions, narcissism is at a minimum prolonged and may never significantly decline.
The family in this country is being torn apart. With each member doing his own thing, doing it if it feels good and whatever, the family has gradually deteriorated. And the family is the basic unit of this nation. When the family is gone, so will be the country.
Being a coach means giving your job 200% all the time and you're family is left on the side so I don't want to risk my family anymore just because I love football. I don't feel this ambition, I'm involved in many businesses and I want to live my own life, to see my daughters grow and want to see my family happy.
