As far as I am getting good roles I am the happiest person.
I am truly at my happiest not when I am writing an aria for an actor or making a grand political or social point. I am at my happiest when I've figured out a fun way for somebody to slip on a banana peel.
I did the good priest and the bad and felt that I am getting stereotyped in priest roles. I am not picking them anymore.
I'm happiest in nature, in trees, rivers, streams, and I'm happiest around my kid - you know that's the funny thing, he is not always in the best of moods, but I am always happiest around him and in nature. Around my family is where I am happiest.
I am happy that I am getting roles to prove my acting calibre.
I am sure as everyone knows that I am not the happiest if I don't do a good job in qualifying or the race.
When I look back over my career, I just feel pleased that I'm still working and getting some good roles. It's been 30 years now, and a generation has grown up with me. There are kids who don't have a clue who I am, but they queue up and ask for my autograph and admit their mums love me! It's all good - I am having a ball.
I am very happy that I am getting to play such layered and demanding characters. I feel blessed that directors are trusting me with such roles.
I am not loved. I am not a beautiful soul. I am not a good-natured, giving person. I am not anybody's savior.
I think we identify ourselves by labels or things that we are able to do: I am this. I am a good cook. I am a good mother. I am a good this. I am a good doctor. I am a good lawyer. When you can’t do those things anymore, you wonder where your identity is.
A career as an actor was never there in my wildest dreams and here I am getting such good roles and doing films that are so appreciated.
Am I Getting Lazy? Am I Too Busy? Am I Becoming Arrogant? Am I Getting Timid? If you answer 'yes' to any one of these questions, that's your warning to Kick that attitude!
Am I happiest on the farm or out in the middle? I am a cricketer, but the farm is a very special place and I absolutely love being in the countryside and getting away from the bubble. I like to think I'm a farmer, but there's so much experience that goes into that.
I am constantly visible in TV shows because anybody who is thinking of a role sees me performing on TV and may say, 'Why not him?' That way I am always in the limelight. It's better than running around for good roles. I can't lobby for roles.
Because of the fact I look a lot younger than I really am, I think, I end up getting these girl-next-door roles. I mean, I'm not a Gemma Arterton type as far as I can tell.
The idea is to choose good roles and good movies. I don't want to act simply to remain in the industry, nor am I here to do glamour roles.
I have so far played a variety of roles and enjoyed all of them. But I am biased towards positive roles because I love staying peaceful and bringing smiles on people's faces.
