Many of my friends were blacklisted. America should be ashamed of it forever.
Many survivors refuse to talk about what they went through but I've never been ashamed to have been in one of those places. The shame is not mine; the church should be ashamed. They say now they're sorry - what they mean is, sorry they were found out.

You strayed from the way and did not return because you were ashamed. It would be more logical if you were ashamed not to return.
If I were the first of May, I should be ashamed of myself.
If you think about 'The Pill' by Loretta, that was totally blacklisted back then. But she revolutionized and liberated a generation of women - country listeners and beyond - that were sort of in that box and were able to break out of it.
Donald Trump is behaving in an extremely provocative way toward China, having first cancelled the TPP and alienated America's friends in the region. Same thing that he's authorizing much riskier gambits against ISIS, having alienated many of America's allies and friends in the region.
When I read that nobody should ever feel ashamed to be alone or to be in a crowd, I realized that I often felt ashamed of both of those things.
If we are not ashamed to think it, we should not be ashamed to say it.
Quite many people have ugly hands, and I thought I should not feel ashamed about it.
