It's wonderful to win, but don't get cocky about it!
There's nothing I hate more than an over-cocky person. I have friends that'll be all cocky and then go out and get their butt whooped. They're the worst.
I'm not trying to be cocky, but I set such a high standard for myself. I'm not happy when I pitch seven innings and give up two runs and get a win.
Am I cocky or conceited? I'm definitely cocky. But at the root is confidence and humility.
People say I'm arrogant or cocky. You know what it is? I feel that I have a good chance to win ball games.
Once you get cocky that's when you start to, A, turn into an asshole to everybody and, B, make mistakes because you stop listening to people or they stop telling you because you're a cocky asshole. I think sometimes, when you're on top and all you do is win, win, win, win, win, you get lazy and lose focus. When you lose it opens your eyes and you get serious. There is always a time when it is good to lose, at the right time for you.
I'm cocky. It's different. Cocky is playful.
If you have the choice between humble and cocky, go with cocky. There's always time to be humble later, once you've been proven horrendously, irrevocably wrong.
I don't want to be cocky, but I want to win a championship and feel that with my team, I have the ability.
I'm looking forward to getting in Reliant and trying to get a win there. That's a great venue and a wonderful race.
All the stats don't mean a thing if we don't get the win. The most important stat is the win. Nothing else really matters if you don't get the win.
When you Google me, you'll find a lot of people don't like Richard Dreyfuss. Because I'm cocky and I present a cocky attitude. But no one has ever disagreed with the notion I represent, that we need more civic education. So far there's 100 percent support for that.
Now I also want to say, without a doubt, there are some wonderful, wonderful, absolutely wonderful things about being a man. But at the same time, there's some stuff that's just straight up twisted, and we really need to begin to challenge, look at it and really get in the process of deconstructing, redefining, what we come to know as manhood.
I'm not really worried about how many carries I get or anything, I just want to make sure we win the game. So if I need 50 carries to win the game, I'm going to get it.
I had a lot of wonderful accomplishments in the game of basketball. Of course, to win a gold medal for your country - it doesn't get any better than that.
