I am a recovering rat racer. — © Rachel Simmons
I am a recovering rat racer.
Back in the day, I was the first non-recovering doctor working in recovery. People would say, 'You can't do that! We need recovering guys in this.' But usually recovering doctors have a lot of baggage and so there's a certain amount of liability with a recovering doctor. But of course it can be ideal.

I am not there to finish fourth at the end of the day. I am there to win as a racer, but on the radio, it sounds I am arrogant and not listening to the team, but it is not like that.
I am happy to be the son of the greatest F1 racer of all time. I'm happy that he is the greatest F1 racer of all time, and I admire him for that. And even if sometimes it can be a bit difficult, it is what it is. There are good sides to it, and there are bad sides.
With Racer X, whenever we have time, we try to put a record together. And that's always fun because the guys in the band are great friends and I don't think I ever laugh as hard as I do when I'm with the Racer X guys.
People have seen now I am a racer, and I have big intentions in the sport, and I am prepared to get my shoulders out if I need to.
In the end, I'm a racer, I'm not a model, obviously. I lost about a foot of my height for that. And in the end, I'm not trying to be one. I'm trying to be a real person. Try to be a racer.
If I hadn't come East as a kid, I might still be a World Cup racer today, but I wouldn't be the same World Cup racer.
Like my boy tells me; if it looks like a rat and smells like a rat, by golly, it is a rat.
I am never embarrassed to relax. I am not part of any rat race. I am very happy to be by myself.
I am not a driver, I am a racer.
I wish to have no status as a man. I am equally content to be a worm or a rat, and am only glad that I am not becuase they have such a rough time without the pleasure of painting.
I am a recovering alcoholic.
