I would literally do anything for Richard Curtis. Anything.
The irony is that we're really good at comedy in Britain, but for some reason, we make very few comedy films. And when we do, they're either quite American in style, or very Richard Curtis. And I like Richard Curtis, but I think only Richard Curtis should write Richard Curtis films, and other people should try and find their own style.
The writer Richard Curtis is a genius.
Friends frequently ask how I, given my politics, dealt with seeing my brother and his companion, Richard, together for the first time. They are surprised when I tell them it wasn't as unsettling as I had anticipated. Richard was smart, funny, kind, and clearly devoted to Curtis. They just clicked.
When you can literally Google anything, you don't feel like you have to go see it in person. You can do a lot of traveling in your bedroom, but you're not touching anything and you're not feeling it.
Richard Curtis has an encyclopedic knowledge of ABBA, which defeats even mine.
Personally, I am obsessed with my mom, and I would do literally anything for her.
Richard exhaled. It was like somebody sprinkling pepper on his wound: Thousands of Biafrans were dead, and this man wanted to know if there was anything new about one dead white man. Richard would write about this, the rule of Western journalism: One hundred dead black people equal to one dead white person.
Is he a scumbag in training?” Richard glanced at the gunman. “At least have the decency to hold the gun properly, you fool. If you don’t know how, pass it to someone who does. I’m not going to suffer being shot at by anything less than a full- fledged lowlife. (Richard)
I think I hoped for something more. Maybe I even hoped that I could find in Richard what I had with Ben. But it is suddenly very clear: Richard is not fallin in love with me and I'm not falling in love with Richard. We are not creating anything permanent or special. We are only having fun together. It is a fling- a fling just like he said last night- a fling with an ending yet to be determined. I feel relieved to have it defined
You didn't hear anything about 'Celtic Pride' when they had Sidney Wicks and Curtis Rowe and they were only winning 32 games a year.
I was very proud to be Mrs. Curtis Amy. My thing in life when I married Curtis Amy was being Mrs. Curtis Amy. Career was fine, but I was enthralled with being Curtis' wife. That was very important to me back then, and that's always important to a young lady from New Orleans. That's our upbringing: to be a wonderful wife and mother first.
If anyone said anything sideways about my children, I would literally be in jail like, just straight up.
I would stare into the bright lights and imagine I could do anything. Be anything. And I would tell myself it would be me up there one day.
Going forward, anything that Richard [Ayoade] asks me to do, I would be so honoured... even if it's sweeping the street because he's such a great person and a great friend.
I think I'm one of the only guys here - I mean, we have so much great talent here, but I can do anything. I can literally do anything. That's not me being like, 'Oh I'm so great.' I'm just like, 'I know what I'm doing.'
Going back to high school and college, I believed I would be involved in public service. I literally could not conceptualize anything else.
