To be an 'artist' is as much a calling from and to a divine service as becoming a physician, nurse, priest, shaman, or healer.
Muhammad was, first of all, a Prophet of course, a beloved and lover of God, a father, an army commander, a judge, a ruler of a community, the King of Medina and later of Arabia, and all of these were combined in him and his destiny, the reason God brought him on earth, was to show how each of the functions which human beings have in life have the perfect form in the prophet.
The shaman/priest/artist/teacher/leader does not operate for the sole benefit of herself and her kind but for the benefit of the people at large and of the universe and its patterns, as becomes what she perceives as fitting into place, into her sense of natural justice.

One is, like, Scott Pilgrim is awesome. The second is Scott Pilgrim believes himself to be awesome.
There's a real danger in the way our representative government functions today. It functions properly only when paired with accountability.
Magnificent autumn! He comes not like a pilgrim, clad in russet weeds; not like a hermit, clad in gray; but like a warrior with the stain of blood in his brazen mail.
That's what the shaman said. He didn't know what he was up against. He didn't expect the strength and weight and evil intensity of this spirit, this "entity," as he called it. The same way the priest in an exorcism has to take on the spirit.
And all men are ready to pass judgement on the priest as if he was not a being clothed with flesh, or one who inherited a human nature.
Maybe my work looks a little crazy, a little insane, but I don't really see myself as a crazy artist or a shaman artist.
In the economy of Heaven, God does not send thunder if a still, small voice is enough, or a prophet if a priest can do the job.
