Bollywood is very structured and organised, but Kollywood and Tollywood can be quite spontaneous, and I enjoy that.
Kollywood allots big budget only for commercial films. Bollywood film industry is straightforward that way. When compared to Bollywood, Kollywood is fake. They keep churning out the same films.
I find the working pattern to be the same in Bollywood as well as Tollywood. Especially because most directors of photography from the Telugu industry operate in Bollywood, too.
I am not saying one is better than the other. I enjoy both. But Hollywood is far more organised than Bollywood.
I pick my actors primarily based on my gut-feel. They could be rank newcomers or established stars, but if I feel they'll do justice to my characters, they are on. I think Bollywood is now looking towards Kollywood for new faces, and, to my mind, Suriya will be a very successful crossover star because he's very versatile.
I have a lot of friends in Kollywood. I enjoy a very warm relationship with many actors, actresses, directors, and producers here.
I can't run away from my prior commitments in Tollywood just because I have an offer from Bollywood.
Bottom line is, off-beat film or commercial films, Tollywood or Bollywood, it's the role that matters to me.
But I don't believe in organised politics, organised religion, organised music, organised anything.
My career is doing well both in Tollywood as well as Bollywood.
I actually quite like [social media]. It's spontaneous, you don't really have to commit to it and I enjoy the interaction. Also, I have never sworn on there, not once.
Well organised displays of spontaneous support is one of the New Labour machine's specialities.
We have a storage close by where I live, that's very organised. My guitar tech, Matty organised it all, labeled everything.
If I become an MP I'll work for both Bollywood and Tollywood, specially for the old and out of work technicians. This is not an idle promise, Bappi Lahiri will keep his word.
Earlier Bollywood was a fly-by kind of business which few wished to be involved in. Now Bollywood is good business and everybody wants to be associated with films. This is definitely a very significant change that I have seen in Bollywood.
I'm a mother - that's who I am totally. But I am also a creator. I manage to fit it all in because I'm very organised. Oh my gosh, I'm so organised, it's unbelievable.
The social system is taking on a form in which finding out what you want to do is less and less of an option because your life is too structured, organised, controlled and disciplined.
