There's only one movie in my career I've had regrets with cutting it shorter, and I think some scenes maybe I shouldn't have cut.
Strangely, I always have a lot of cut scenes. I keep writing shorter and shorter scripts, thinking that this time, I'll get all my scenes in.
In any movie, there are a number of scenes that get cut in an effort to keep the film from running too long. Some are of little consequence, but others are important scenes that are very painful to lose.
I cut up loads. I always want everything shorter, shorter, shorter.
I have always tried to avoid regrets. Could I have done differently some things in my career? Maybe.
My career was obviously cut shorter than I wanted it to be.
Sometimes I feel like every movie I make could be the last. I know that's not really the case, but if I think about it that way and I'm very careful, then maybe I can build a career, movie by movie, that I'm happy with.
I think I want to pursue a movie career and maybe even pursue some theatre.
I've cut myself out... I've cut scenes out that I was in and that's when you realize that you've got to make the best movie you can.
I think television does tease out a certain vanity in everybody when you look at yourself and you go, 'Oh Christ.' Maybe that's why my intros get shorter and shorter.
Of course no player wants to end their career with regrets. I don't think any human being likes having regrets either.
I’m not being cynical, but when you’re doing a movie you have a number of choices as an actor. Then you see it all cut together and all of those precious little pieces you put in are maybe on the cutting room floor. So, you don’t have that much control. You have very little control, in fact.
A couple of years ago I used to have long, curly, mermaid hair that was amazing, and then I broke up with my boyfriend and I cut it off to my shoulders. It was in this awkward Molly Ringwald phase, so I just kept cutting it shorter.
I think that, you know, women succeed in the cutting room or they're allowed into the cutting room because it's not a very on-display job. I mean, we're behind the scenes. We kind of whisper in your ear.
Maybe at the end of my career, I could do some fights at heavyweight, when I'm older and not cutting weight. When I'm in my prime, I should stay at my weight class when I'm at my best, but let's say the end of my career, I want to just make an extra buck and not taking it too serious, yeah, I'll get fat and I'll fight, sure.
It's not like some movies where you're following a bunch of different stories you can cut around. There was nowhere to cut to. It's these guys. We're not cutting back to anybody else
