I love Lars von Trier. 'Dogville' is my favourite movie of the last 20 years. 'Nymphomaniac' and 'Melancholia' aren't quite as exciting as 'The Kingdom', 'Breaking the Waves', or 'The Idiots', but I'll always love him for being him.

But they're humanist movies because they show a woman going through life and being in really awful situations and going through hell, especially in films like 'Dogville' or 'Breaking the Waves,' but they stand their ground and they stay who they are, and I think that's empowering for anyone.
