I have never been able to go against my instinct. — © Diana Penty
I have never been able to go against my instinct.
It is your organized religions that have made it clear through their most sacred scriptures that cruelty and killing is an acceptable response to human frailty and human differences. This goes against every human instinct, but organized religion has reorganized human thoughts. Some humans have even been turned against their own instinct for survival. And so people go around maiming and killing each other, because they've been told quite directly that this is what God does to them--and what God wants them to do to each other.

My business savvy it’s instinct. Everything I do is just really my intuition, and every time I go against my intuition, it’s a mistake. Even though I may sit down and analyze and intellectualize something on paper, if I go against my gut feeling, it’s wrong.
I've been on the other end of sticky decisions, have been the 'B' side, but I never go in there thinking, 'Is this going to go against me?'
I was never able to get through Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. I've never been able to make it through. And I love the Smashing Pumpkins, they're one of my favorite bands ever, but I've never been able to listen to the whole thing all the way through.
I just don't have that natural instinct to be able to let my guard down and start speaking to people. I never have - I've always been a bit socially awkward, even with people I've known for a long time.
I trust my gut instinct, and go against the grain and it works.
That is my reality. It's that important to nurture and foster my own creativity. There are plenty of birthday parties I haven't been able to go to, weddings I haven't been able to go to because I've been working. Those are things that have not been easy to give up, but at the same time, it is my reality. It's my responsibility.
It is only with the passage of the Violence Against Women Act in 1994 that we have been able to put a dent in violence against women, and women have had a place to go.
I just enjoy the challenge of me against the other guy. I've never been able to get enough of wrestling.
It's sad how people want to see us females go against each other. Never been for that. Never will.
I always go by instinct and then wrestle with where by instinct brought me.
Leadership is about having the courage to go against the advice of the so-called experts and doing what your instinct tells you is right.
It's nice to be able to go against bigger guys and be able to bang.
