For me, to consciously seek unpredictable roles would be dangerous. — © Farhan Akhtar
For me, to consciously seek unpredictable roles would be dangerous.
History resists an ending as surely as nature abhors a vacuum; the narrative of our days is a run-on sentence, every full stop a comma in embryo. But more: like thought, like water, history is fluid, unpredictable, dangerous. It leaps and surges and doubles back, cuts unpredictable channels, surfaces suddenly in places no one would expect.

I don't want to play everything. So I'll seek out roles that I'll say, 'This is edgy. This is fun. This is wicked. This suits me.'
The things that make me laugh are considered smart or whatever, I guess. But stuff that's self-consciously intelligent or self-consciously hip or cool, that doesn't do it for me either. You just try to be funny.

If I wanted to become a tramp, I would seek information and advice from the most successful tramp I could find. If I wanted to succeed in all things, I would look around me for those who are succeeding, and do as they have done.
