Three rules of success in fashion: perseverance, dream a bit and be passionate about it.
I enjoy gastronomy, music, and fashion, so I'll end up involved in one of those three areas - or all three! They're things I have a passion for, and I only do what I'm passionate about.
I'm convinced that about half of what separates the successful entrepreneurs from the non-successful ones is pure perseverance... Unless you have a lot of passion about this, you're not going to survive. You're going to give it up. So you've got to have an idea, or a problem or a wrong that you want to right that you're passionate about otherwise you're not going to have the perseverance to stick it through.
I like playing with fashion and bending the "rules," or what was "rules" - there are no rules anymore, you know? Fashion is way bigger than that and it's about wearing what you want and wearing what makes you feel comfortable and what makes you feel confident.
There’s a side to me that likes to make clothes for everyday. But I also think of fashion as an escape. It’s like a dream. It shouldn’t always be practical and about real life. Sometimes you have to do a piece that has a bit more of a wow - almost like, "I don’t know who’s going to wear that. It’s almost too much." That’s a lot of what fashion is about. Even in an economy that isn’t strong and where it’s important to sell clothes, you have to make things that let people dream a little, you know?
When you are young, if you can define your long-term dream, - something that you can get passionate about - solidify your values, dare to take a risk and then put a plan together to accomplish that dream... that could be the difference between success and failure in life.
During fashion week, I dream about fashion; afterwards, I dream about fishing. After fashion week, I always go fishing to wind down.
Purity, patience and perseverance are the three essentials to success and above all love.
Perseverance is also key to success in any endeavor, but without perseverance in combat, there can be no victory.
The will is the spirit of perseverance, and perseverance holds clear success.
Success flourishes only in perseverance ceaseless, restless perseverance.
[Through the making of Dream of Life] I learned about being patient, perseverance, having a dream, a goal. I learned that I can accomplish something despite not knowing anything about it when I begin.
Success is not necessarily about connections, or cutting corners, or chamba - the three Cs of bad business. Call it trite, but believe me: success can be achieved through hard work, frugality, integrity, responsiveness to change, and most of all, boldness to dream.
It [what you choose to do] has got to be something that you're passionate about because otherwise you won't have the perseverance to see it through.
My grandmother told me that to be in fashion, one must be young and passionate about the work. At this moment, every aspect of my life is permeated by fashion - everything has a reference to my job.
The three ordinary things that we often don't pay enough attention to, but which I believe are the drivers of all success, are hard work, perseverance, and basic honesty.
I believe that perseverance is vital to success in any endeavor, whether spiritual or temporal, large or small, public or personal. . . . All significant achievement results largely from perseverance.
