When players go into management, they might think they will bring their ideas forward, but when they get into it, it's difficult to do that.
I have to get used to international management. The players will go back to their clubs, they will all be playing at the weekend, they will all be thinking about other things.
Sometimes you get put into difficult situations where both players are trying to go forward, and it's tough to be able to be as clean as you'd like to be.
Why would you want to bring a foreign coach? Why? If you bring a foreign coach, you might as well bring foreign players, white players to play for Nigeria. If you bring a European coach, he should also bring oyinbo (white) players. That's how it is.
Reminiscing No one knows ... until you live it, to be there, to tee it up each week, to get yourself ready, the players and whatever else.... I think its a very, very difficult, tough and demanding job. And to be able to, particularly, stay at the level of expertise that we have over the years. Along with the fact that we have made football a presence at BYU. I think those are the things that are about as satisfying as anything that has happened. Then, of course, the players.... I think the thing that will be the most difficult is leaving the relationships and the involvement.
We absolutely need diversity [in game designers]. And not just diversity of gender, but diversity of cultures, of ethnicity, of sexuality. If we want to reach beyond the audience we have we've got to bring in more players, and to bring in more players we've got to bring in people who might be able to reach those players.
I think public criticism of players can go one of two ways: either the players will want to raise a proverbial middle finger at their manager and prove them wrong, or the squad will go within themselves and performances will deteriorate.
I don't think there's a particular technology that will set the trajectory for us moving forward. We don't want to be one of the companies that say AI is the next big thing, let's go build an AI application for Robinhood. That might not work. It might be awkward.
The players, when we get in the locker room, we talk about what's going on. And the players always see how the management or how ownership treat other players, treat other players around.
It's been so difficult to go from playing every game then get to the seniors and not be given a chance. It's really difficult mentally. There's only so long you just enjoy training with top players.
I've an idea for doing a Situation Comedy myself but its always difficult to get people to listen to you because they like to put their own ideas forward.
The process of science is difficult and challenging. It involves always being aware that your ideas might be right or they might be wrong. I think it's that kind of balance that makes science so interesting.
It's unfortunate that you don't see the loyalty from management to players and players to management like we used to see in the old days.
But Rangers don't need to go there and win, they need to go there and get a point. I think the hardest thing about it is there will be no supporters. Playing in an empty ground will be a problem for the players.
The best way to get a sense of what kinds of emergencies might present themselves in your community is by contacting local chapters of the American Red Cross or offices of emergency management in the region or state. Most large cities will have their own offices of emergency management.
There's always going to be a time when there's a difficult period and my responsibility is to manage the players through that. You have to make sure you bring stability back to the club and get where you want to be.
At the interface of the say-able and the unsay-able is the novel, the new, the never before seen, said or done. And that's what I think it's important to try and bring out, ideas. Because I think we are the animals that bring back ideas.
