Accept criticism. If you do not offer your work for criticism and accept that criticism, meaning give it serious thought and attention, then you will never improve.
These are the few ways we can practice humility: To speak as little as possible of one's self. To mind one's own business. Not to want to manage other people's affairs. To avoid curiosity. To accept contradictions and correction cheerfully. To pass over the mistakes of others. To accept insults and injuries. To accept being slighted, forgotten and disliked. To be kind and gentle even under provocation. Never to stand on one's dignity. To choose always the hardest.
Once you accept defeat, it becomes ease to lose. If defeat comes, face it and take it, but don't accept it.
You need to have the humility to accept your limitations as long as they're there, and have the humility to accept their end when that time comes.
When I post a photo from a 'good angle,' I receive criticism for looking smaller and selling out. When I post photos showing my cellulite, stretch marks, and rolls, I'm accused of promoting obesity.
When I accept an apology it means that the part in me that honors our relationship honors the part in you that honors our relationship.
I don't believe in honors - it bothers me. Honors bother: honors is epaulettes; honors is uniforms. My papa brought me up this way.
Maturity is the ability to think, speak and act your feelings within the bounds of dignity. The measure of your maturity is how spiritual you become during the midst of your frustrations.
The ability to keep a cool head in an emergency, maintain poise in the midst of excitement, and to refuse to be stampeded are true marks of leadership.
We're told that men are strong & brave, but I think women know how to endure, accept defeat & bear physical & mental agony much better than men.
Most people think of poise as calm, self-assured dignity; but I call it “just being you”.
It might be that to surrender to happiness was to accept defeat, but it was a defeat better than many victories.
I bear testimony of our Heavenly Father, the Father of our spirits; of Jesus Christ, our Redeemer and Savior; and of the Holy Ghost, who is the means through which we receive divine guidance. I bear testimony that we can personally receive inspiration.
A great deal of humility is necessary in the process of self-discovery. Humility is the ability to accept what and who you are at this moment.
The willingness to forgive is a sign of spiritual and emotional maturity. It is one of the great virtues to which we all should aspire. Imagine a world filled with individuals willing both to apologize and to accept an apology. Is there any problem that could not be solved among people who possessed the humility and largeness of spirit and soul to do either -- or both -- when needed?
I think the attitude needs to be: We need to defeat Liberals, defeat them, defeat them. Not accommodate them. Not try to persuade them. If they come along of their own volition, fine. We accept them. But they are the epitome of bigotry and prejudice.
